About Avera Children's
Hospital & Clinics and the
Pediatric
Oncology Program
Our goal for The Big Grape 2008 is to raise
funds that will benefit children and families through Avera
Children's Hospital & Clinics and the Pediatric
Oncology Program at Avera McKennan Hospital & University
Health Center.
We want to
allow infants and children from our community, state and
region to stay close to home to receive life-saving
treatments and experience greater family support. Your
donations will benefit these small children and their
families through equipment acquisition, staff education,
training, and charitable health care. Funds raised
through The Big Grape 2008 will also provide a pediatric
social worker, and child life specialist for our patients
and their families.
At Avera Children's Hospital, we
take care of kids with compassion and medical excellence.
Our expert pediatric staff works with parents and other
healthcare providers to give children the best care
possible.
With our
mission of Caring for Life, we believe each
patient, regardless of age, is an important member of our
community family. So, as a community health provider,
we offer quality hospital and specialty services for
infants, children and young adults. We provide all of
our pediatric patients with the very best family
centered medical care and work to ensure their safety and
privacy.
Avera
Children's includes our dedicated hospital pediatrics unit,
pediatric intensive care unit,
neonatal intensive care unit and pediatric
specialty clinics with more than 30 physician specialists.
The Pediatric Oncology Program at Avera
McKennan strives to meet the unique physical and emotional
needs of our community’s smallest cancer patients and their
families. At Avera
McKennan, we believe that providing comfortable, home-like
surroundings and entertaining activities is crucial to our
compassionate care plan.
